Coconuts are grown in popularity in Vietnam. Coconut shells discarded but many places are under study materials used to a lot of different ways around the world, common to use as fuel, coir mattresses, pads; coco peat used in agriculture as the substrate, fertilizer ..; and there have been many studies to fully exploit the advantages of using coconut shells as waste; used to produce electricity; fabricated parts bins, flooring and coating inside car door; then to do helmet, body armor or coconut shells used to produce lightweight concrete building slabs.
US7097768 Patent was granted by the authors Pierre Talbot, Denis Pettigrew, Roger Lacasse, Ginette Belanger, Yves Arcand, Jean Pierre Dautais, refers to the biological filter material for sewage treatment from raw materials very easily available in Vietnam was coir, while referring to the wastewater treatment system using this filter material. Coir can be obtained by dry or wet, comprising the steps of: peeling, tearing, combing, screening. This material is lightweight, has high elasticity, can be compressed to reduce transport costs, and can return to the original volume after shipping.
In coconut shell, by weight, 19% is dried crust, 34% and 47% coco peat is coir. Coco peat is characterized by high suction and moisturizing. Coir provides a large surface area to absorb contaminants. Also, acne and coir have the ability to provide nutrients for the microorganisms.
According to the invention of US7097768, coco peat is mounted with coir constitute the "seed" of different sizes depending on the requirements (so-called seed coir) for filter material. Many materials used biofilter wastewater treatment, but nothing of the kind to meet all the necessary features. For example, commonly used sand filter sewage through natural flow, but heavy, poorly capillary, under the impact of the spa; Peat has many advantages compared to sand, but low elasticity, poor stability and limited capacity to influence the ability to flow and duration of use, better able to use perlite (perlite- is kind mineral containing high silica formed from the lava flow of a volcano).
To match user requirements, county coir can be used in combination with filter materials such as peat, the inorganic minerals such as sand, gravel, perlite, geothermal fabric, polymers or total the above materials to further increase the handling characteristics of the filter material.
According to the invention, the biological filter material layer should be about 20% to 80% (by weight) of the particles coir, fit most 50% and coordinate more different filtering materials. Here introduce filtering system using filter material under the present invention.
